The Mouth of the Tyne Festival 6th to 8th July

This years 13th Anniversary of the Festival will be held on Thursday 6th July to Saturday 8th July click Mouth of the Tyne Festival 2017 for this years programme. The multi award-winning line-up features alternative rockers Elbow and singer-songwriters Tom Odell and Laura Marling, and many more.

All three shows take place in the stunning Tynemouth Priory and Castle overlooking the North Sea and River Tyne.

Proper Food and Drink Festival 29th April to 1 May and 17th-18th June

The ever popular Proper Food and Drink Festivals, which attract thousands of visitors every year, are returning to two North Tyneside towns in 2017. Entry is free and they will take place in Northumberland Square in North Shields over the May Bank Holiday weekend (29 and 30 April and 1 May) and along the Spanish City Plaza in Whitley Bay on 17 and 18 June (Father’s Day). Tynemouth Fake Festival 29th April 12.30pm - 11.30pm

Now in it's 6th year, Tynemouth Fake Festival is one of the biggest dates on their tour and usually sold-out in advance. This year it will held in Percy Park RFC, North Shields, Tyne & Wear NE30 2BE, for more info click the link Tynemouth Fake Festival

We're bringing 3 of our ‘fake bands’ to Tynemouth – professional ‘touring-grade’ tribute bands that put on a superb performance. They look, sound and move like the real rock-stars – you have to see them to believe it! Plus, talented ‘home-grown’ bands based locally to the festival get to play support to our ‘fake bands’ during their afternoon showcase. Come and support local live music.

Tynemouth Food Festival 13 and 14 May

Saturday 9am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm. Over 50 stalls, street food from around the world, chef demonstrations and entertainment. The festival is supported by North Tyneside Council, the Sea Cadets and sponsored by Geordie Bangers.

Tickets are £3.50, children under 16 are free with an adult. Ticket price includes entrance to the Priory and Castle grounds.

The 2016 Festival was its 12th Anniversary and was held on Thursday 7th July to Sunday 10th July

Artists appearing included Bryan Ferry, Will Young, Lulu, James Bay, Nadine Shah, Lemar, Tunde Baiyewu.

Tynemouth Fake Festival Sat 28th May 2016

Tynemouth is full of great places to eat, the "Tynemouth Food Festival" for its 5th year was held in Tynemouth Priory and Castle grounds this time, offering the best and tastiest food from the North, on Saturday May 10th and Sunday May 11th. clik the link Food Festival for further details.

Stalls sold high quality produce, at Fish Quay and Tynemouth front street also our own Gareth James, Chocolatier. A Real Ale Beer Festival was organized by the Cumberland Arms Junior Masterchefs organized by The ​Grand Hotel and a Mad Hatter’s Tea party at Kings School set up by local Theatre company, Dodgy Clutch.

Tynemouth's Classic Volkswagen Rally is held in the Haven Car park July 27.

Northumberland Park North Shields Launch Festival & Feast

Was held on 8th August 2015, full of family fun to celebrate the Heritage Lottery-funded park restoration and to mark its 130th anniversary.

At the recently renovated Tynemouth Station , where markets are held every week including books, antiques, arts, crafts and a Northumbrian Farmers Market, recommended by Gourmet Britain.

Forty years of books: Words and Music Festival was held May 15-19 May. This proved to be most popular and we hope the Iron Age Press hold future festivals!
